Well, "we won" is about all you can say. I thought our first-half performance was, on the whole, very good. We passed the ball as well as we've done all season and easily outplayed Khon Kaen. But what happened in the second half?! I expected Khon Kaen to come out and have a bit of a go, but they dominated from 46 to 90 minutes as Korat totally went to sleep and failed to wake up. It was very lucky that the penalty was saved as I don't think we would have won the match had that gone in.
'truered' touched on the lack of width in the Sriracha game and it was evident here too. We do have width, but it was sitting in the Scoreboard End in the form of Jang Yong Ik and David Le Bras. I don't know why we have seven high-earning foreigners in the squad if they're going to be used so sparingly. Yesterday, there was two in the starting XI, Etoundi and Marques; two on the bench, Bani and Valci Junior, and three in the stands, David, Jang and Marcel.
I'm off on holiday for two weeks as of today. Normal service will be resumed after the Bangkok FC match on August 26th.
