I'm really in two minds about the team at the moment. On the one hand I should be saying that it's a poor show to have only taken three points from the games against Bangkok FC, Phuket and Rajpracha; that we're slipping back into negative tactics and that our defending is still woeful at times. But on the other hand, I just think "so what?" We're a mid-table side, we've been mid-table for most of the season and that's where we'll finish. I just want to get this season over and done with now. The board have already said that their thoughts are turning to next season as they consider who they want to offload and likely transfer targets.
Regarding yesterday's game, you have to factor in the conditions. The pitch was waterlogged and results can be a lottery on such a surface. That said, the surface had nothing to do with the non-existant marking for their first goal. Rajpracha played well – presumably playing with an unencumbered freedom since they already know they're going down. Their 16 was a little turd with an attitude problem, but he was a decent busy little player.
I thought we probably deserved to win on the balance of play, but we never really went for the jugular after our second goal – a third and it's all over – we just strolled through the game content that we were just doing enough to earn victory. Their equalizer was just one of those things for me. 99 times out of 100 it flies over the bar. On this occasion he's caught it sweetly and it's gone in.
Yes, if this was four or five months ago I'd have been going mad, but what does it matter now? We're not going up; we're not going down.
